What is Brute Force Protection?

Brute Force Protection limits the number of failed login attempts allowed per user. This is important because spammers and hackers can both manually and robotically attempt to access your CMS admin panel. Brute Force Protection locks these users out after a few tries. You can even whitelist your own IP, so you’re allowed more login attempts.

Why is it important to update WordPress Core, Plugins and Themes?

WordPress and its plugins and themes are no different from Windows or OS, and other computer software and applications. They require periodic updates – sometimes to provide new features and sometimes to fix known bugs. Although you may not require new features, its very important that bugs are addressed, as they are often related to security issues. When the core code, plugin or theme update is released that fixes a bug, we recommend you update as soon as possible to have the most secure and stable version of your website. A bug in your theme or plugin can affect your whole installation.

How long does it take to build a website?

The time it takes to build a website depends on the scope of the project. For a basic website, you can expect it to take 1-4 weeks to build. More extensive websites with custom functionality may take longer. We can provide an expected timeline once we understand the requirements.

Once the website is built, we recommend our clients participate in a 2 hour training session to learn how to manage the content on their site. Clients are then able to add content to their website at their own pace, and we can launch the website when ready. To speed things up, we are available to assist with content entry, or you may choose to get initial content in place and soft launch the website, then continue working on content after it’s live.

Am I able to update my website?

If you have a WordPress or a NetClimber custom CMS website, then yes, you are able to update your website content on your own. We always give our clients the option to learn how to input and edit their own content. With that being said, we are happy to help with data entry on your website at an hourly rate. If you have a static html website, you will probably require assistance in updating your website content. Please e-mail or call us with any necessary changes and we will take care of them for you.
